June 8th inauguration of the Bologna Mazzini Station

A street party with food, dance, children’s games and dj-sets, many free events in and around the railway bridge of Mazzini street

A street party with games, dancing, beer, crescentine and live music with DJ and VJ-set, to involve the citizens of Bologna, sensitize them to the use of the train and promote a culture of sustainable mobility. It was the event organized Saturday, June 8th from the Province of Bologna and City of Bologna for the Inauguration of the Bologna Mazzini Station, the new tile of the metropolitan rail service (Mrs) managed by the CTI consortium, formed by Trenitalia and Tper, funded by the Region of Emilia-Romagna.

Started h 6:00 p.m. (to h 11:00 p.m.) in Mazzini street, which was closed to the traffic (from the Mainoldi street to the Pontevecchio street) to set up stage, information stands and the booths of the shopkeepers of the area.

An area was dedicated to children with balloons, makeup artists, clowns, magicians and educational workshops on the city and transport. There were three musical events organized to the afternoon: the “spaghetti samba” of Orchestra Rosichino, jazz of Banda Rai and the traditional song of Polka Vanda.

H 20:00 it was time for “Dance for a new wanderlust”, the spectacle of contemporary dance company Le Supplici and edited by the cultural association Urban Dance. Under and around the bridge of Mazzini street, decorated by flags, drapes and coloured bandages as a large curtain, seven dancers moved in a complex and intricate choreographic sections, that will remind the constant human push towards the innovation, migration of birds, the great transhumance, schools of fish that seem to encircle the void in the oceans.

The music has been the protagonist from h 21:00 with the beats and the projection of the DJ Koan 01 (Massimo Vincentini) accompanied by video performer Ootchio (Salvatore Arangio).
